Our Columbus Day Ship charm is modeled after the Santa Maria, one of the iconic ships from the Columbus' seafaring expeditions of the 1400's. This ship, as well as La Nina and La Pinta, were previously used merchant vessels and were not intended for exploration. In fact, they were relatively modest in size like a modern cruising yacht.
