The Fir Tree symbolic of the White Mountain National Forest. Founded in 1911, the White Mountain National Forest is a labor of love. Garden clubs, granges, and conservationists joined forces with the Appalachian Mountain Club and the grand hotel owners to save the beautiful forests from wildfires and ruthless lumber barons. Hampshire Pewter is proud to offer this ornament as a tribute to those courageous New-Englanders who struggled so hard to preserve our forests. Their vision and commitment have left us all with a priceless legacy of unmatched beauty, a legacy protected and preserved for all future generations of Americans.
