Worcester County Memorial Park
Worcester County Memorial Ornament

We had a unique opportunity last year to design a custom ornament for a cemetery. However, this is not your average cemetery. Worcester County Memorial is a vast beautiful park with several distinct gardens for burial and remembrance of passed loved ones. Upon entering, you see a large simple redwood cross, a statue of a husband and wife, and a serene pond with an illuminated waterfall. The entire park is covered in lush landscaping and florae.

Worcester County Memorial Park, established in 1961, is located in Paxton, Massachusetts. Paxton is a rural town located in central Massachusetts and is unaffected by the noise and turmoil of the city. The park itself is in a tranquil pastoral setting. The park is open 24 hours a day, so there is no time when a loved one can not be visited. The park is divided into over ten different gardens, each with a unique atmosphere created by different plantings, stately statues, walkways and meticulously manicured lawns. The statue and waterfall featured on the ornament are located in the Garden of Heritage. This garden was created in the 1980s. At each of the four corners are statues representing the four seasons. At the entrance of the garden is a wall that reads “To live in hearts that love us is not to die.”
