Straitsmouth Island Light - Rockport, MA

The Straitsmouth Island light is located in Rockport, Massachusetts on Straitsmouth Island. The original light tower was built in 1835. The tower underwent several rebuilds over the course of its storied history. The current tower, built in 1896, is constructed from cylindrical brick. The 37-foot-tall tower is considerably smaller than 124" towers of the nearby Thacher Twin Lights. Source: Lighthouse Friends

New England Lighthouse Collection

The Brant Point Lighthouse ornament is part of our special Christmas ornament collection. Each of the ornaments in our collection are finely detailed to capture what makes each lighthouse special. Some lighthouses are made of cast iron, similar to the Portsmouth Harbor Light, others are made out of hand cut granite block, similar to the Brandt Point Light; all the details are captured in our Christmas ornaments. click here to see our complete lighthouse collection

Ornaments Made in the USA

All of our Christmas ornaments are made in the USA. The ornaments are handcast using our specialized centrifugal casting machine using vulcanized rubber molds. Our lead-free pewter is heated to a range of 500 - 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The pewter is then cast into the spinning mold carefully by hand. Once the pewter solidifies, the raw ornaments are taken out of the mold. The castings that are satisfactory to the watchful eye of the Pewtersmith are then deburred by hand. The ornaments are then put through our antiquing process. After drying completely, the Christmas ornaments are buffed by hand, removing just the right amount of the antiquing solution to create the beautifully detailed ornament. Finally, the ornaments are dusted, inspected, and packaged with our red elastic bow hangers.
