Sixth Day of Christmas: Six Geese A Laying

The Six Geese A Laying ornament is part of our 12 Days of Christmas collection. The yuletide Carol, which has been sung and enjoyed during the Christmas season for centuries, has inspired our Six Geese a Laying Christmas ornament. The Six Geese a Laying verse represents the fact that the world (and all that is in it) was made, by God, in six days. Just as eggs are the symbol for new life and creation, so the geese laying eggs presented the whole story of God moving His hand over the void to create life.

Ornaments Made in the USA

All of our Christmas ornaments are made in the USA. The ornaments are handcast using our specialized centrifugal casting machine using vulcanized rubber molds. Our lead-free pewter is heated to a range of 500 - 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The pewter is then cast into the spinning mold carefully by hand. Once the pewter solidifies, the raw ornaments are taken out of the mold. The castings that are satisfactory to the watchful eye of the Pewtersmith are then deburred by hand. The ornaments are then put through our antiquing process. After drying completely, the Christmas ornaments are buffed by hand, removing just the right amount of the antiquing solution to create the beautifully detailed ornament. Finally, the ornaments are dusted, inspected, and packaged with our red elastic bow hangers.
