Somersworth 125 Years as a City

In 2018, the City of Somersworth, New Hampshire celebrates its 125th anniversary as a City. In 1729, a Parish was formed named Summersworh because the people from the area found it difficult to get to Dover for worship, especially in the winter months. The first incorporation was in 1749 as the Town of Somersworth. The year 2018 finds Somersworth thriving as a City, the slogan "Proud past, bright future" reflects a proud heritage and great hope for the future heritage. Ornaments Made in the USA

All of our Christmas ornaments are made in the USA. The ornaments are handcast using our specialized centrifugal casting machine using vulcanized rubber molds. Our lead-free pewter is heated to a range of 500 - 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The pewter is then cast into the spinning mold carefully by hand. Once the pewter solidifies, the raw ornaments are taken out of the mold. The castings that are satisfactory to the watchful eye of the Pewtersmith are then deburred by hand. The ornaments are then put through our antiquing process. After drying completely, the Christmas ornaments are buffed by hand, removing just the right amount of the antiquing solution to create the beautifully detailed ornament. Finally, the ornaments are dusted, inspected, and packaged with our red elastic bow hangers.
