The Merrimack Historical Society partnered with Hampshire Pewter to create a custom pewter ornament that beautifully honors two of the town’s cherished covered bridges. Thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted, the ornament features the Turkey Hill Bridge (1859–1968) on one side and the Fields/Seaverns Bridge (1859–1967) on the reverse—preserving their legacy in finely detailed pewter.
Each side of the ornament captures the rustic charm and architectural character that made these bridges beloved landmarks in Merrimack. From the distinctive truss design to the weathered wooden siding, Hampshire Pewter’s artisans carefully sculpted every detail to reflect the craftsmanship of the original 19th-century structures. The dual-sided design creates a meaningful tribute, connecting two historic crossings in one timeless keepsake.
The Merrimack Historical Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Merrimack, New Hampshire. Through educational programs, exhibits, and preservation initiatives, the Society works to ensure that important pieces of the town’s heritage are remembered and appreciated by future generations.
This custom ornament not only commemorates two lost landmarks but also supports the Society’s mission—transforming local history into a tangible heirloom that celebrates Merrimack’s enduring community spirit.
